Privacy policy
Short version: we count visits and clicks to improve the site. We have no accounts, we do not ask for your name or health details, and we do not sell your information. Last updated October 2026.
Who we are
PricePoet ("we", "us") is a website that compares prices, offers and codes across online brands. Questions about this policy: [email protected].
What we collect
- Visit and click data. An analytics provider counts visits and records which pages are viewed and which links are clicked when you leave for a store (the brand, the product and the type of link). This includes your IP address, approximate location, browser and device type, and uses cookies or similar technology.
- Server logs. Our hosting and security providers keep short-term technical logs, such as IP addresses and request details, to keep the site secure and working.
- What you type in the search box. We may record the words searched, without your IP address, so we can add brands and products people look for. Please do not type personal or health details into the search box.
- Emails you leave for alerts. If you ask to be emailed about a product on its page, we save your email address and which product it is, so we can tell you about its release and price changes. If you ask us to track something we don't cover yet and add your email, we save it with what you searched for, so we can tell you if we add it. We use it only for that, keep it until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it (after you unsubscribe we keep only the address, to make sure we do not email you again), and share it only with the service that sends our emails.
- Feedback on codes. If you tell us whether a promo code worked, we store that answer anonymously: worked or didn't, an optional reason, the code and a random ID your browser makes, with no IP address.
- Email you send us. We use your address and message only to reply.
What we do not collect
PricePoet has no accounts. We do not collect your name or payment details, and we do not ask about your health. The only personal information we ask for is the email address you choose to give us for these alerts. We store which product you followed with your email so we can send you its updates. Some products relate to health, so please do not put anything else about your health in an email to us.
Why we use information
To run and secure the site, to understand which pages and brands are useful, to decide which brands and products to cover next, to answer your messages, and to send the release and price emails you asked for.
Who handles information on our behalf
We use service providers in these categories: analytics, website hosting and security, database and storage, and email sending. They process information only to provide their service to us. We also work with affiliate networks and brands (see below).
Links to stores and affiliate cookies
When you click through to a brand's store, you leave PricePoet and that store's own privacy policy applies. If a link is an affiliate link, the store or its affiliate network may set a cookie so it knows the visit came from us. We do not receive your purchase details beyond what the network reports about the sale. See our affiliate disclosure.
We do not sell or share your information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or use it to build advertising profiles. We do not knowingly sell or share the information of anyone under 16.
Cookies, signals and opting out of analytics
You can opt out of analytics on this site with the switch below. It stops analytics from loading on this browser and works on phones and computers. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies does not stop you using the site.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, analytics does not load at all. We do not currently change how the site works in response to "Do Not Track" signals. Because we do not sell or share personal information, there is nothing further to opt out of.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to opt out of sale or sharing. Email us and we will respond within the time the law requires. We will not treat you differently for making a request. We may need to confirm a request is from you before acting on it. Because we do not keep accounts, we often hold little that can be tied to one person.
Children
PricePoet is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
Security and retention
We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no website can promise perfect security. We keep analytics data for as long as our analytics settings allow (we set the shortest practical period), and email for as long as needed to deal with your message.
Visitors outside the United States
PricePoet is operated in the United States for people shopping at US stores. If you visit from elsewhere, your information is processed in the United States.
Changes
We update the date above when this page changes. If a change affects how we use information we already hold, we will say so on the site.
